Exercise

Exercise

Exercise to decrease stress, improve mood, and improve sleep.

Generally within a week after surgery, the athlete should be be able to safely work the non-injured half of the body. Check this with someone on the post-operative care team such as the surgeon, athletic trainer, physical therapist, or physical therapist assistant. Try strength training with weights or bands or if able to do so safely, aerobic (cardio) exercise such as brisk walking or cycling.
